These were known as the “Poor Man’s Deringer”. American Standard made a similar deringer pistol, however, unmarked examples such as this one are generally associated with Bacon Manufacturing. Constructed of a single frame body, this example bears a 3 inch barrel in 34 cal. This one still retains the vast majority of the nickel finish. Both wood grips are firmly in place. Serial number on the underside of the barrel in 459. Manufacturing of this revolver began in 1861 with roughly 25,000 produced.
