Killer sixth plate tintype of a Western Theater Federal infantryman. These Western Theater troops are almost always readily distinguishable from their Easter Theater counter parts, with their rougher appearance. This rather tall fellow stands defiantly in this pose. Dressed in a four button sack coat and military trousers which have been tinted this wonderful shade of blue. A waist belt is worn with an empty bayonet scabbard visible and belonging to the blade which is affixed to the end of his musket at his side. His cartridge box hangs from his shoulder while he sports this wonderful, black felt slouch cap. He stands posed in front of a military themed back drop featuring scenes of tents and artillery. This image has a really good look to it and the attitude which these hard fighting Western Theater troops were known for is clearly visible in his demeanor. Housed in a full leatherette case.
