Very nice post Civil War, navy officers waist belt. This one is about c.1875. The leather is a bit stiff but overall in very nice shape with almost no flaking or crazing. 17″ in length by 1.5″ in width. Both leather hangers are intact with brass clasps. One of the leather hangers in torn about half way through however. Two-piece interlocking eagle plate which retains almost a 100% of the original gold gilt. No makers stamp on the plate. Inspectors mark of “33” on the interior flap of the belt. No tears are separation of the stitching to belt itself. Over all a very nice and solid belt.
