This is an original pair of brass frame, Civil War era field glasses. Nice quality manufactured field glasses that were made in Paris, as many of the high quality optical pieces of the day were made. They stand about 7 inches tall and are about 5 inches across the base. The top of the lenses are marked “BARDOU & SON *PARIS*”. You can spy on your neighbor with these ones too as the optics are still good and clear after all of these years. The leather coverings are loose on this example but still in place. There is a crack in the adjustment knob as well but it does still work and you are able to adjust the lenses with ease. Good piece for your field display.
