Description
Ninth plate tintype of this well armed Federal cavalryman. Waist up view of this soldier dressed in his cavalry service jacket. Nice blue tinting to his trousers. He has unsheathed his heavy cavalry saber for this view with the blade resting against his shoulder. You can see the light is just glimmering off that blade. Nice clear view of that M1851 eagle belt plate and you couldn’t ask for a better shot of that Burnside carbine! Wonderful broadside view of the trigger and hammer assembly! He also sports a pair of filthy leather gauntlets while his cap is worn with the visor flipped up. His carbine sling and cartridge box sling crisscross across his chest. Hard to find a good carbine image these days! This example comes housed in a very nice, full thermoplastic case with patriotic brass matting.
