Description
Sixth plate ambrotype of a Federal infantryman. Very nice view of this soldier dressed in his infantry frock and kepi. His musket is held at his side with the bayonet attached while sporting a US waist belt and cap box. A M1858 smooth side canteen hangs from a white linen strap which is worn around the neck. Every soldier was issued a canteen, and yet we hardly ever seen them show up in images. Nice view of this one with the dark blue wool cover. Housed in a full thermoplastic case.
