Small grouping attributed to Fletcher Ryan of the Missouri Home Guard. Ryan would first enlist with Company H of Osage County Missouri Home Guard on May 27, 1861. The units service would be brief and before the end of July they would be mustered out of service. Fletcher would be called to arms once again in August, 1863 when he entered service with the 9th Regiment Missouri Provisional Militia. His service would again be brief. This time he would be relieved of duty on November 30, 1863. There doesn’t seem to be any information as to why he was actually relieved of duty however. The grouping consists of a nicely framed carte view of Fletcher dressed in his infantry frock and sporting a M1858 Hardee hat. The frame measuring 5″ x 4″. His discharge from the State of Missouri Adjutant-Generals Office dated April 13, 1896 is also included. This does come housed in a nice wall mount frame as well. Nice little grouping from the state of Missouri.
