Sixth plate tintype of a Federal infantryman ready for a long march and some heavy fighting. Heavily laden for the trip ahead. Dressed in a four button sack coat and dark trousers, he cradles his musket in his arms while wearing a pair of leather gauntlets. A heavy load weighs upon his shoulders with a canvas knapsack packed full and his greatcoat rolled and fastened to the top. Double armed with his musket and a revolver that he has pulled from the holster and tucked it into his belt for greater visibility during the photoshoot. He also sports a cap with a large brass letter “I” pinned to the front. He stands in front of the “Fort on the Hill” back drop used by photographer Enoch Long at Benton Barracks. This one has a few nicks to it but some great content! Housed in a full leatherette case with the emerald green velvet pad.
