Item No. HA7798TK Category

Wonderful, early war, sixth plate ruby ambrotype of one of the many volunteers that enlisted from the state of New Hampshire. This young volunteer strikes the often seen pose that many New Hampshire troops took in displaying his cap for the camera. Dressed in a sack coat, he is outfitted with a US waist belt, cap box and a cartridge box worn over the shoulder. His musket rests at his side while he proudly displays his cap for the camera. The top of the cap bears the initials “N H V” as well as his company designation “K”. A brass infantry horn is affixed to the top as well with his regimental designation pinned in the center. It appears to be a numeral “13”. I always love these New Hampshire images! Housed in a full leatherette case.
