Post war sixth plate tintype of two unidentified NCO’s. The pair stand side by side striking identical poses. Both men wear four button sack coats and grey trousers. Each has his knapsack and bedroll strapped down over the shoulders. The man to the right wears the rank of sergeant while his comrade wears the rank of company quartermaster sergeant. Both wear grey caps with brass insignia pinned to the front. The sergeant to the right has the letters “HB” pinned to the front of the cap. He also wears a militia script NYS rectangular belt plate which identified this image to no earlier than 1885. A small medal is also pinned to the breast of his jacket. Housed in a full leatherette case. Very nice image with great content.
