Description
Civil War Era Colt 1849 Pocket or Root Pocket powder flask. The total length including the charger is 4 1/2 inches, and it is 2 inches wide at the base. All original with embossing on both sides, with an eagle holding a shield and arrows within its talons. Thirteen stars are above the eagle’s head and wings. “E. Pluribus Unum” is printed within a banner, at the lower edged, just below a pair of crossed pistols. The body of the flask is brass with a brass charger. Very nice patina to this example. The charger does still function. There is a small dent to one side but otherwise a beautiful and fully functioning flask.
