Early war quarter plate tintype of a Federal infantry NCO. Dressed in his infantry frock with corporal’s chevrons worn on the sleeve. Grasping his M1858 Hardee hat in his hand with a large ostrich plume present and the side pinned up with the brass hat badge. A US waist belt is worn with a silver handled Sheffield knife tucked in at one hip and a revolver on the other. Both of which are highly likely to be photographers props. Some solarization around the outside edges but otherwise fine. Housed in a full leatherette case with a split spine.
