Pristine and beautiful tintype view of a Federal cavalryman. This example is in the cdv size format which is not often encountered. Wonderful view of this cavalryman dressed in his service jacket and heavy cavalry trousers which are tucked into his knee high boots. Triple armed, his cavalry saber hangs from a M1851 eagle waist belt. A Burnside carbine is held by the trigger guard assembly as it hangs from his carbine sling while a Remington revolver is displayed across his chest. He stands posed in front of this wonderful, military themed back drop which features a row of military tents and the US flag. Clarity of this image is superb! It comes housed in a rare and mint thermoplastic case specifically made to fit these cdv size tins. This one is a 10 out of 10!
