Description
Here’s a rare one from the G.A.R. 22nd National Encampment held in Columbus, Ohio in 1888. This example belonged to a veteran from the state of Kentucky. The top bar on this example features an ear of corn with “KENTUCKY” across the front. The bottom medallion hangs from a US flag ribbon and is made in the form of a piece of hardtack. G.A.R. is seen across the front of the medallion with the reverse marked “KY 22ND National Encampment Souvenir Columbus, O. 1888”. The ribbon is pretty tattered but it is still holding together. One of the more unique reunion medals I have seen.
