Rare carte view of an unidentified medical steward from Massachusetts. Seated view of this steward, dressed in his trousers with the green stripe running down the trouser seam which was reserved for medical staff. He also sports a frock with a wonderful view of that medical insignia worn on the upper arm. This example does have a slight diagonal crease in the lower right had corner which is visible in this scan. Back marked out of Charlestown, Massachusetts. I would presume he worked in one of the Washington Hospitals. Don’t see these medical steward views very often with the embroidered caduceus.
