Stunning pair of sixth plate ambrotypes. These most likely date to about 1856. The clarity of these two images is absolutely exceptional! Neither of the men are identified but obviously come from a very well to do back ground. These were photographed in the studio of Myron Kimball who was operating out of a studio on Broadway Street, New York in 1856. Kimball is regarded as one of the early pioneers of photography in the United States and based on his work here one can see why. These come housed in a very nice double sided thermoplastic case. Beautiful pair of images!
