Description
Really killer double cased pair of early war ninth plate tintypes. I think it can be safely assumed that these two men were brothers serving in the same regiment. No doubt they sat for these two views at the same time. Both sit with the American flag hanging loosely in the back ground and tinted in shades of red, white and blue. Each of the men sits dressed in infantry frock’s and sporting a US waist belt worn around the exterior of the coat. Both also display a Colt Navy revolver for the camera which was no doubt supplied by the photographer. The two brothers also sport cockade’s pinned to either side of the breast and tinted red, white and blue with a unknown button at the center. Really neat pair of images! These do come housed in a double sided thermoplastic case.
