Item No. HA1843JR Categories , Tag

Really sweet little ninth plate ruby ambrotype of a volunteer from the state of Indiana. The sitter is unknown, however he’s dressed in the Indiana state issue dark blue jacket which consisted of cloth shoulder tabs and a row of 8 state buttons. His cartridge box is worn, absent a breast plate, while his cap box is positioned in front. Triple armed, his musket is cradled up against the shoulder with the bayonet affixed. A small Sheffield style knife is tucked into the flap of his coat while he brandishes a small pocket revolver for the camera. Nice, armed image of an Indiana volunteer. Housed in a half leatherette case.
