Description
Three page, war date letter written in ink. The undated letter is addressed to a woman by the name of “Alice”. It mostly speaks of home life, crops, friends and family, father suffering from heart disease among other daily news. It does mention “The Regiment that ?? enlisted in has since been in a battle and almost every one killed and the rest taken prisoner”. Unfortunately there is little information to determine who wrote the letter other than the name “Tieggie” or where is was sent. There is a Civil War dated Alabama 25 cent note enclosed in the letter however there is no mention of it in the letter itself. I would presume this letter originated in Alabama based on the enclosed note. There is no cover with this letter. Just the letter itself.
