Very nice veterans ladder badge attributed to the 25th Ohio Light Artillery. This one consists of 4 bars with the 7th Corps insignia suspended at the bottom. The top bar does still retain the safety pin type back. Constructed entirely from German silver the front is stamped “25 Ohio L. Art.”. Just a slight bit of paint loss to the lettering and scalloped edges. This battery was organized from men belonging to the 2nd Ohio Cavalry at Crane Creek, Missouri in February, 1863. During that year they would be engaged in various expeditions throughout Missouri and Arkansas. The regiment would fight at the Battle of Brownsville, Arkansas and participate in numerous skirmishes before entering Little Rock. The remainder of their service would be spent in operations against enemy forces in southern Arkansas and various other parts of the state. Extremely nice badge.
