Description

Really neat carte view of this young lad. This came out of an album containing members of the 127th New York Infantry. Dressed in this tidy little uniform, while holding his cap in his hand, it looks a bit large for his head. The 127th New York would be known as “The Monitors”, and along the bottom of this carte view in very faint pencil are written the words “Monitor Boy”. He may have served as a drummer boy or some other role, but his identity is currently unknown. Back marked out of New York.
