Description
Extremely nice GAR ribbon for the 26th Annual Reunion of the 184th New York Volunteer Infantry held in Fulton, New York on June 17th, 1914. This example has a very nice enameled suspension bar across the top from which a blue silk ribbon hangs. A celluloid of Private James H. Morehouse, who would serve in Company C of the regiment is attached to the ribbon. Morehouse would serve from September of 1864 until his discharge in June, 1865. The 184th would muster into U.S. service at Elmira, New York and would join in Sheridan’s Shenandoah Valley Campaign, taking part in the Battle of Cedar Creek. The remainder of their term would be spent at Bermuda Hundred and Harrison’s Landing. This one does still retain the pin back.
