Description

This is a pair of two dispatches written by Colonel Julius Adams of the 67th New York Infantry to General Charles L. Fitzhugh. Written from Camp Palmer on the 20th and 21st of September, 1861. They are written on 1st Long Island Regiment letter head, the name by which the 67th New York was otherwise known as. The first of the two brief dispatch’s are in regards to a small number of troops and orderlies which were dispatched for guard duty. The second dispatch is in regards to General Charles Kinnaird Graham, former colonel of the 74th New York Infantry in which Colonel Adams alludes to the appointment of General Graham to command the brigade. Both dispatches are written in nice, bold ink, although somewhat difficult to decipher. No tears in either of these.
