Description
Very nice carte view of Barnum’s Circus star “General Tom Thumb”. His real name being Charles Stratton. Titled “The Fairy Wedding Group”, it features Tom Thumb and his bride Lavinia, flanked by Commodore McNutt and Minnie Warren, of P.T. Barnum fame. This one does have the facsimile printed signatures on the verso reading “Compliments of Charles S. Stratton. Compliments of Lavinia Warren Stratton. G. W. McNutt, Minnie Warren“. I believe this was taken in 1863 if I am not mistaken. Nice view back marked by Brady.
