Description

Beautiful carte view of Captain Ephraim H. Brigham. The former Deputy Sheriff would be commissioned captain of Company I in August, 1862. He would be present with the regiment until June of 1864, participating in a slew of now famous battles. The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Cold Harbor and a good many more. In July, he would be sent home with failing health and would remain there until September when he would be discharged for disability. This is a beautiful carte view of the captain dressed in all his splendor. Wonderful clarity to this view with that eagle plate plain as day. His cap rests beside him with the numeral “39” visible on the front. Nice deep tones to this one. Back marked out of Boston.
