Very nice, original Civil War embroidered infantry horn hat insignia, see Campbell & O’Donnell figure #309. The horn denotes the infantry branch of service. It measures approximately 2 1/4″ across and 2″ high. It is embroidered with golden threads and sequins sewn onto a black felt and linen backing, the original backing is also intact on the reverse. Very nice example.
