Description
Superb sixth plate tintype of a Civil War sailor. Seated pose of this navy sailor dressed in his blue jumper with a black silk handkerchief worn around the neck. His rank of petty officer can be seen worn on his sleeve consisting of silver star which he has pinned to the sleeve and an embroidered eagle. This really a top shelf navy image! Accompanying the image is a post war tintype of the sailor as well. Unfortunately his identify has been lost to the ages but really a superb sailor image. Housed in a full leatherette case with a split spine.
