Description
Great early war carte view of a Federal infantryman. Studio pose of this soldier dressed in his infantry frock with a full compliment of US leather accouterments. His M1858 Hardee hat sits on the table with brass infantry insignia pinned to the front and the side pinned up the hat badge. The reverse of the card has a pencil notation which reads (Stronger) and below (A Civil War Soldier). Whether that was his last name or they are implying the strength of a soldier, since they have it in parenthesis, I do not know. Great view of your typical text book Civil War infantryman.
