Description
Super cool FULL plate tintype of a Federal infantryman. This one has all kinds of content and a very unusual pose. Seated in a small wooden chair, this infantryman rests with legs crossed while enjoying that staple of every Civil War soldier. Hard tack and coffee! He holds onto his tin cup while a spoon protrudes from the cup itself while a large square of hard tack rests on his knee. On the bare ground, his muskets rests atop of very full knapsack with his bedroll secured on top. His haversack lays on the group by his feet along with a small silver platter. There also appears to be a couple of potatoes laying on the ground, his coffee pot and I’m not sure what the other object is. Really neat and seldom seen image of this soldier enjoying his meal! I do not have any brass or a case for this one.
