Outstanding, picture in picture, quarter plate ambrotype. This is a soft emulsion, relievo ambrotype in the style of Charles Rees. Civilian pose of this unidentified middle aged man dressed in his suit. Wonderful clarity to this image. On the table beside him sits a sixth plate ambrotype portrait of himself dressed in a different suit. You can clearly see it is the same man. Really neat image! This one comes housed in a half leatherette case.
