Beautiful carte view of this Federal infantry lieutenant. Studio portrait. Standing pose of this line officer dressed in his frock. A Lincoln mourning ribbon can be seen pinned to his coat sleeve which would date this view to most likely the latter part of April of 1865. Wonderful clarity to this view with nice deep tones. Back marked out of Albany, New York with a cancelled tax stamp on the reverse.
