Early war, sixth plate ruby ambrotype. This is one of the very first images I ever purchased some 20 plus years ago. We have here a Union infantryman is posed in his great coat and cape with his musket held upright at his side. No doubt from an early east coast regiment I would assume. Solarization around the mat edges but still a great looking image. This one still has the original seals in place as well. Housed in a half thermoplastic case.
