Description
Neat sixth plate tintype of a Federal soldier. There is a bunch of brass on top of that cap that appears to indicate that he is a member of a Pennsylvania volunteer infantry regiment. Behind the man are a couple of stacked muskets from which a cartridge box and US waist belt hang. I have seen this prop used in several other images, although I do not know where these images were taken. Housed in a full leatherette case with a split spine.
