Early war telegraph dispatch to sent to Brigadier General Don Carlos Buell by General McClellan. Sent from Washington, this one is dated September 30th, 1861. Reading “Telegram from Gen. McCall says eight (8) Regiments of the enemy advancing on Great Falls. Have your command in readiness to act at once & await further orders. Direct your pickets to be vigilant & report often”. It is signed along the bottom “Geo. B. McClellan Maj. Commanding”. Measures Measures 8″ x 5″. Nice bold ink and easily legible.
