Wonderful horizontal carte view of the Headquarters of the Chief of Artillery for the Department of the Cumberland photographed in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dozens of caissons can be seen lined up in front of the headquarters. A lone soldier stands in the open field while a civilian onlooker stands off to the left of the picture frame. The city of Chattanooga is visible off in the distance. Really neat view. No back mark on this one.
