Description
Sixth plate ruby ambrotype of a Federal cavalryman photographed with his wife. Dressed in his cavalry uniform and armed with a pre-war militia sword, his wife resting on his shoulder. This has an old tag glued to the velvet cushion which reads “Grandpa and Grandma Dorisland. Dad’s Grand Parents”. I have been unable to locate individual by that last name serving during the war so it is probably a misspelling of the last name. This one does have some solarization to the surface.
