Description
Simply beautiful quarter plate ruby ambrotype of a Union drummer boy. He is posed in front of this wonderfully tinted back drop featuring a sailing schooner and large home in the back ground. I believe this in fact a Vermont back drop. He stands dressed in an infantry frock and sporting a two-piece militia waist belt. A large snare drum hangs from his neck while he readies to drum out the call to arms! This one comes housed in a scarce full thermoplastic case titled “The Sweet Potato Dinner” with the emerald green velvet pad. Beautiful image!
