Description
Sixth plate tintype of this unidentified New Hampshire infantryman striking a relaxed pose and partaking in a well earned meal. Laying prostate and resting on his gum blanket and coat, he holds up what appears to be a slice of bread for the camera. In his other hand, he holds his cap with “N.H.V.” and his company letter “K” pinned to the top. His actual regiment designation is however obscured. A tripod of muskets is stacked behind the man while a number of camp items can be seen laid out on his blanket. His rubberized haversack lays open exposing it’s contents. His tin cup can be seen laying on the blanket while a slice of bread propped up against his haversack. This one is a little on the dark side with a small bit on crazing in the lower right corner but a really neat pose you don’t often see! Housed in a full leatherette case.
