Description
Sixth plate tintype of an infantry corporal from the sate of New Jersey. Seated pose of this soldier dressed in a New Jersey frock coat with cloth shoulder tabs and corporal’s rank. Large eagle buttons, which are clearly visible to the eye, run the front of the coat. He also sports a pair of white leather gauntlets, and a US waist belt with his cap box and bayonet visible. Additionally, he is outfitted with a red fez from which hangs a yellow tassel. This one does exhibit some slight crazing and a circular mat rub from a smaller mat that once accompanied the image. Housed in a half leatherette case.
