Description
Ninth plate ambrotype of a pre-war Massachusetts militia soldier. Dressed in a grey triple breasted frock, he sports these massive white fringed epaulettes. What is most likely a two-piece Massachusetts state seal belt is worn around the waist. This one does have a label on the back of the image from photographers Davis & Co of Boston. Housed in a fell leatherette case.
