Description
Ninth plate tintype of a Federal soldier dressed in his great coat, cape and forage cap. He wears a small patriotic shield which he has pinned to the cape along with some type of rounded object. It almost looks like a pop bottle cap with scalloped edges and doesn’t appear to have anything on the face of it. A M1851 eagle waist plate is worn with the pommel and guard to his sword visible. Tax stamp on the reverse. This has had the brass mat trimmed back to expose more of the image and is missing the oval mat as well. If you would like to put one back on the image, I probably have one laying around here. Housed in a fairly nice full thermoplastic case.
