Description
Original non-excavated Civil War cross belt plate constructed of stamped brass with lead fill. These plates would have been affixed to the cartridge box shoulder sling. This example retains both iron loops on the reverse as well as the majority of the gilt to the face of the plate. There’s a small ding along the rim of the plate and shows minor wear. Very nice plate.
