Description
Post-war document by former Civil War Major General Grenville Dodge. Full page letter in purple type-written script. Grenville would prove his worth during the war multiple successful campaigns to his credit. He would be wounded on three separate occasions during the war, one of which was a leg wound by his own pistol. This example is dated, “April 17, 1906” and is addressed to House Representative, Walter I. Smith. The letter is in regards to the Sundry Civil Bill being brought up in both the House and the Senate, with Grenville requesting the times which the bill will reach both chambers, so that he may attend. It is signed in bold black ink “G M Dodge”. No tears or discoloration to this one. A very nice document from the former general. It is accompanied by a number of pages of research material.
