Description

Pre-war discharge dated August 22, 1859. This discharge is for private James Manchester who would serve in “C” Company of the 9th New York State Militia. Signed at the bottom by Colonel M. M. Van Beuren and adjutant Charles Bostwick. James Manchester would later serve in the 18th New York Artillery and 46th New York Infantry. No tears in this one. Overall very nice condition.
