Description
Sixth plate ruby ambrotype of a Confederate artilleryman. Seated pose dressed in this Richmond Depot Type II jacket with the pocket variation. Corporals rank can be seen worn on the sleeve indicating his NCO rank. The low profile buttons appears to be cast “A” buttons. His kepi made of a grey material has a band around the lower potion which was most likely red in color. Some solarization to this example but you don’t find Confederate artilleryman very often. This one was published in Volume 5 of “More Confederate Faces”. Housed in a half leatherette case.
