Quarter plate tintype of this young infantryman looking a little apprehensive about his situation. The reality of the war ahead had probably not yet been realized by this point. Studio portrait of this young soldier dressed in a sack coat and standing next to an empty chair. Beautiful tinting to both his trousers and the carpet which has been tinted green. A simple yet poignant view. This one does come housed in a full leatherette case with a split spine and the velvet pad a little worse for wear.
