Description
Exquisite quarter plate tintype of this unidentified Federal officer. Full standing pose of this well dressed officer. Dressed in his officer’s frock, a red sash is worn around the waist and over the shoulder. The image is clear enough to view the decorative stitching on the M1851 eagle waist belt he wears around the waist. A rain cover is worn over the cap, while sporting large gauntlets and leaning on his officers sword. Very nice blue tinting to the trousers and a nicely tinted red sash. He stands in front of this rural country themed back drop which is very similar to the back drop used by Gideon Smith of Washington. Although slightly different, it is most likely the same studio used by many members of the Army of the Potomac. Housed in a very nice full thermoplastic case.
