Description
Exceptional sixth plate ambrotype of a Federal infantryman photographed outdoors. Don’t see these outdoor images very often. Dressed in his infantry frock, he stands next to a large oak tree. Outfitted with his cartridge box, US waist belt, cap box and empty bayonet scabbard. His arm rests on three muskets at “stacked arms” at his side. A small pine tree is seen behind him as well as the exterior wall of a clapboard building. Neat outdoor image that don’t come up to often. Housed in a full leatherette case.
