Description
Wonderful quarter plate ruby ambrotype of this New Hampshire volunteer. Displaying his cap brass in typical New Hampshire form, he unfortunately moved slightly during the process slightly blurring the insignia. The regimental numbers appear to be “22” with the Company letter “G” and classic N.H.V. Dressed in his infantry frock, he wears the jacket open, buttoned at the top per regulation. Sergeants chevrons are worn on the sleeve while he steadies his musket at his side. This same image is published I believe in a regimental history but I have forgotten which book it was. It was however not identified in that book either, other than only to a specific regiment. This one comes housed in a full leatherette case.
