Description
Absolutely beautiful sixth plate tintype of this unidentified member of the VRC. He sits dressed in his Veteran Reserve Corps light blue uniform and sporting a rolled mustache as unique as his uniform. Sergeants chevrons are visible worn on the sleeve. Beautiful tinting to the entire uniform which simply pops out at you in contrast to the plain light background. Red shading has been applied to the table cover as well. Two tax stamps on the reverse of the plate date the image to 1865 and identify the photographer as W. P. Egbert who would operate a studio out of Davenport, Iowa. Just an all around gorgeous image! Housed in a half leatherette case.
